Buzzmax does not sell personal information, and does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have no advertising relationships, we run no ad-tech pixels, and we make no money from anyone's data other than by charging our clients for the work we do for them.
1What our status actually is
We would rather be accurate than impressive. Buzzmax is a small business and is below the applicability thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act. We are not a covered "business" under that Act, and this page is not us honoring a mandatory obligation we are subject to.
We publish it anyway, for three reasons. Mobile carriers reviewing a messaging campaign look for an explicit non-sharing statement. Client procurement questionnaires ask for the link. And if we ever do add something to this site that would make us a "sharer", the page and the signal handling are already here rather than being bolted on afterwards.
For data belonging to our clients' customers, we act as a service provider, processing on the client's instructions. Passing data to a subprocessor so it can do a job for us is not a sale, and neither is giving a client their own data.
2Mobile numbers and SMS consent
Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. The only third parties that touch a mobile number are the subprocessors that deliver the message for us, listed on our Security page, and they are contractually barred from using it for anything else.
3What we do disclose, and to whom
- Subprocessors that host, message, invoice or email on our behalf. Named on the Security page.
- The client whose customer the person is. That is the purpose of the service.
- Review platforms, where a removal request needs information about a review.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
None of those is a sale or a share as California defines them.
4Browser opt-out signals
Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control signal, which is a standing instruction not to sell or share your personal information. We honor it.
Honoring it is straightforward in our case: buzzmax.ai sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising pixels, so there is nothing here that a signal would need to switch off. If we ever add anything that would count as a sale or a share, we will read the signal and act on it before that goes live, not after.
5Making a request anyway
You can ask us to opt you out, or to access, correct, delete or export what we hold, by either of these:
- Email team@buzzmax.ai
- Use the contact form on buzzmax.ai, which needs no account
You do not need to create an account, and we will not ask for more information than we need to find your records and be reasonably sure it is you. Anything you give us for verification is used only to verify, and then deleted.
6If someone is acting for you
An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf. We will ask for written permission signed by you, and we may contact you to confirm it, unless the agent holds a power of attorney.
7How quickly we respond
- Opt-out requests: actioned within fifteen business days.
- Other requests: receipt confirmed within ten business days, answered within 45 days, extendable once by a further 45 days with notice.
- Nevada requests under NRS 603A: within 60 days, extendable once by 30 days with notice.
8We will not treat you differently for asking
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a worse service because you made a privacy request.
9If you are a customer of one of our clients
If you got a review request text from a business and want your information dealt with, the business is the one who decides, and the request should go to them. Send it to us anyway if you cannot reach them: we will forward it within five business days, tell you we have, and stop messaging you immediately regardless.
10Appeals
If you live in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or Texas and we refuse a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing team@buzzmax.ai with "appeal" in the subject. We respond within 45 days, or 60 days in Connecticut. If we refuse the appeal, we will tell you how to complain to your state Attorney General.
11Nevada residents
A Nevada consumer may submit a verified request directing Buzzmax not to sell covered information to team@buzzmax.ai. We respond within 60 days.
