FOR TRAILER DEALERS

How to get more Google reviews for a trailer dealership

To get more Google reviews for a trailer dealership, text each buyer a day or two after they tow the trailer off your lot, with the review link already in the message. A shopper weighing your lot against the one across the county reads your Google reviews before they call.

Google reviews for a trailer dealership: who to ask, and when

A trailer lot gets reviews from more people than the ones who bought a trailer. Work out who walks away happy and send each of them one request.

  • Buyers on pickup day. Ask a day or two later, not at the signing table. At the counter they are thinking about paperwork and the hitch, and the trailer has not been towed yet.
  • Parts and hitch customers. A ball mount or a set of tires is a small sale, and it is the one people forget to follow up on.
  • Service and warranty visits. A fixed axle or a replaced door latch is a good moment, because the customer just watched you handle a problem.

Pick one moment per customer and ask once. A second and third text to the same person reads as pressure.

What to text a trailer customer after pickup

Keep it short, name the dealership, and put the link in the message. The same words go to every customer. Do not suggest a star rating or tell them what to say.

Example text, a day after pickup

Hi Sam, thanks for buying your trailer from [Dealership]. If you have a minute, a Google review helps other buyers find us: [link]. Reply STOP to opt out.

More wording for pickups, parts counters and service tickets is on the review request text templates page.

Answering the deposit and delivery-date complaint

Custom and factory-ordered trailers can sit weeks behind the date you quoted, and a deposit that is already paid turns a delay into a one-star review.

Reply in public once, briefly. Say you are sorry the wait ran long, say you have reached out, and give an email address or phone number so it can move offline. Leave out the deposit amount, the model and any detail the customer has not already posted. Do not offer a discount or a refund in the reply, and do not argue the dates.

Buzzmax drafts and posts replies to 4 and 5 star reviews. A low rating is yours to answer in person, in your own words.

A local situation: most of your sales land in a few months

If your lot does most of its business from spring through summer, the reviews a buyer sees in March are the ones you collected last fall. Ask every sale through the busy months so there is a recent review waiting when the next season starts, rather than one from a year ago.

The dealer page has the sourced numbers on how recent a review has to be before shoppers stop trusting it.

How Buzzmax does the asking for a trailer lot

You send us the week's deliveries. Buzzmax texts each customer on the list who agreed to texts, with your dealership name on the message and the review link in it. Messages go out between 9am and 8pm in the customer's local time, and never on a Sunday or a holiday.

Buzzmax also drafts replies to your 4 and 5 star Google reviews with AI, in your voice, and posts them to Google as the owner. On Growth and up, a call you miss gets a text back with your booking link. See the plans.

Trailer dealer questions

How soon after pickup should I ask for a Google review?

A day or two after pickup works for most lots. The customer has used the trailer, and it is still fresh. Pick one moment and stick to it.

Can I give a discount on parts for a review?

No. Google does not allow offering anything in exchange for a review, and the FTC's review rule bars paying for reviews that depend on what the review says. Thank people after they post, with no condition attached.

Do I need permission to text my customers?

Yes. Buzzmax only texts customers you tell us agreed to receive texts. Collect that on the buyer's order form.
